Like most recreation professionals, I have to plan programs way ahead of time. In a few weeks I have to start working on the brochure for spring, so our programs from Feb/March to June need to be planned now.
April 20-26, 2009 is TV Turn Off Week. Started by the Center for Screen Time Awareness, TV Turn Off Week is a time to promote time away from the television, time to explore the outdoors and socialize.
The Center for Screen Time Awareness provides an Organizer’s Kit and other materials on their website.
During this week you can, and should, offer a number of different activities. Try to hold at least one activity each evening during the week. Tomorrow I’ll give you 20 program ideas you can use for TV Turn Off Week.
