A while ago I took my car in for some auto repairs. You know how hard it is to fine a good mechanic, don’t you? Well, there was a shop that was recommended to me. I went to the auto shop and was pleasantly surprised by the service and the rates. They did great work and I never felt like I was being hoodwinked.
One of the things that I noticed while I was waiting for the repairs to be completed was their “Praise Wall”. To be honest it was hard not to notice – it covered a whole wall of the waiting area. On the “Praise Wall” were actual letters that satisfied customers sent in to the auto shop. I began reading a few and they inspired confidence and trust. I truly felt that I had brought my car to the right people.
Now I’m not one to write letters to companies, neither praises or complaints, but after the service I got and having seen all those letters, I was compelled to write a letter of my own to thank the shop owners and staff for their fine service. And I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to see my letter on their wall the next time I visited the shop.
I’m sure residents come in your main office to register, ask questions, get an activity guide, and more. Start a “Praise Wall”. It’s easy and once you start one, more and more people will find reasons to praise your staff so they can write or email a letter to you. Not only will this impress your residents, as well as inspire confidence and trust, but it will also motivate your staff, seeing all the good things people are writing about.
