Good online content for recreation professionals…there isn’t much out there, is there?
My first challenge to you is this – tell 1 other person, who is involved in recreation programming, about this site. In our industry we need to promote content like this. My second challenge is that you leave a comment on one of the posts. It can be this one or a previous post.
The more people that get involved in the “conversations” the better this site will be. Leave an idea or two for others to see. Why do I ask you to get involved? Because we, as recreation programmers, need information and ideas and we need a place to share them.
As I was searching for other sites that had youth recreation programming ideas I was appalled by the lack of information out there. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find information you can purchase, let alone find for free (like my blog here), that would give you some good information or ideas for recreation programming.
When it comes to camp information for skits, songs and games then you have a few options like the Ultimate Camp Resources site or Scoutarama. Otherwise you need to attend an ACA, CPRS, NRPA, YMCA, etc., workshop or conference, that is if your organization is willing to pay for it or you have the extra funds to register yourself. And to be quite honest, even some of the workshops and conferences that are available are weak in the programming area.
So take a minute to do the following:
- Click on the RSS feed above to keep up to date on the postings here – or click on the email link at the very top if you want the posts to be emailed to you daily.
- Choose a post and at the bottom of it click on the “tell a friend” button. Send the post to someone you know.
- Leave a comment or two on one of the posts.
- Have a great day!

I have thoroughly enjoyed your website and I plan on using many of your ideas. I emailed the link to several of my coworkers. I look forward to your updates. Thanks
